I started my career in Melbourne, and have worked in various tattoo studios in Australia and New Zealand.
WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED STYLE OF WORK?
My specialisation lies in American traditional, blended with my own unique style of tribal tattooing. My work is characterised by bold, strong, bright and saturated designs. Inspired by eastern traditions, surrealism and classic aesthetics, I aim to create timeless designs – weaving between tradition and mystique.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT ROCK OF AGES?
To me rock of ages has been a stable studio in the world of Australian tattooing for over 15 years. It was a dream for me to work in a shop like this. Not only the mere experience of the owners and other workers combined is just incredible, I feel like it has always produced strong, neat, quality work, and I feel like being part of such an epic team is actually why I love it so much. Not only that – it’s fun, the music is mostly always on point 😉 and everyone is always wanting to be better and produce quality work, it’s in the best location in the world with so many people traveling from all over to be tattooed there. I feel like it’s a professional safe environment with the highest standards and not only that it feels like one big family, and my family has always felt welcome in there (even when my kids come to steal lollies or hang out to draw for a bit!) And we get to surf before work, and sometimes afterwards..
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT TATTOOING?
When I’m not tattooing, I’m being a parent most of the time and do my best to be the best dad I can be. I have two epic young children, I paint, prepare drawings, surf, make electronic music and pretty much eat everything that I can get my hands on as long as it’s quality. I’m mostly obsessed with food, but I also try and take care of my health, get to the gym, Muay Thai, hang at the beach and get acccupunture or a massage! Also I have new hobby I hang out with my girlfriend and drink wine and go for walks with my new adopted dog! I def do way more than that but this is a good start – ask me more when you’re getting tattooed, and if you don’t ask me I will probably tell you and the whole shop anyway!
